Shandong Institute of Industrial Technology for Health Sciences and Precision Medicine (SIIT) was established by 11 directors or technical experts from research institutes, medical institutions, and enterprises under the Ministry of Science and Technology's relevant policies and the Provincial Science Technology Department. It was formally approved on August 23, 2019, and recognized as the "New R&D Institution of Shandong Province" in 2020. SIIT has eight internal institutions, such as a central laboratory and results transformation department, and six platforms, such as a medical center and results in transformation base.
SIIT implements a management committee operating mechanism under the leadership of the Board of Directors and has a strategic advisory committee, an academic committee, a medical ethics committee, and a supervisory committee. With the guidance of the Strategic Advisory Committee, the strategic layout of the overall development direction is carried out. With the academic committee as the core, the long-term plan and development goals of scientific research have been established. With the medical Ethics Committee as the guarantee, all scientific research activities of SIIT are guaranteed to meet the requirements of medical ethics.
At present, SIIT has established strategic alliances with more than 20 research institutes, medical institutions, scientific and technological societies, enterprises, financial institutions, etc. And it has made arrangements in human microecology, multi-omics, bioinformatics, precision diagnosis and treatment, artificial intelligence, nutrition, health, in vitro diagnostics, etc. Above that, we give full play to the advantages of the "medical research enterprise" collaborative innovation model, build a recyclable innovation and transformation application system, and build an innovation and entrepreneurship community with deep integration of government, industry, education and research funds.
