The Laboratory Animal Center is a comprehensive and open animal experimental research base and scientific research support service platform that satisfies the needs of scientific research. It provides high-quality laboratory animal breeding and animal experimental technology services both inside and outside the SIIT.
The building of Laboratory Animal Center is constructed in accordance with international first-class laboratory animal standards in terms of design planning, facilities and equipment, and operational specifications. The total planned area of the Laboratory animal center is 2000 m2, the total construction area of the first phase is 350 m2,which can provide nearly 800 cage spaces at present. It is equipped with independent ventilation cage system (IVC), automatic drinking water system, automatic cage washing machine, automatic bedding treatment and other equipment. It can provide services such as animal bedding, animal experiments (operation site and technical support), pharmacology and toxicology research, animal model construction, public instruments and equipment, ethical review, technical training and so on.
The operation and management of the Laboratory Animal Center strictly adhere to various rules and regulations, adopt an independent operation mode,carries out in accordance with the principle of "unified planning, full openness and paid services", implements the service mode of "supplying and serving animal experiments on demand" for users, .The personnel allocation of the Laboratory Animal Center is reasonable, and the management, operation, and use personnel are strictly implemented with "regular training, regular assessment, and certification" to ensure the efficient operation.
