National Science Popularization Day | Actively promoting the popularization of scientific knowledge, we are taking action

September 20, 2023 , the main event of the 2023 National Science Popularization Day in Jinan City and Huaiyin District was launched on at Huaiyuan Square. The theme of this year's National Science Popularization Day event is "improving the scientific literacy of the whole people and promoting technological self-reliance and self-improvement".

SIIT actively participated in this event and, with the theme of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), introduced the basic concepts, principles, development history, and application scope of fecal bacterial transplantation to the public in a simple and profound manner through various forms such as explanations and exhibitions, which received widespread attention from all sectors of society.

FMT is the process of transplanting functional microbiota from healthy human feces into the intestines of patients in a certain way, in order to regulate the imbalance of gut microbiota, rebuild a functional gut microbiota, and achieve therapeutic or adjuvant effects on intestinal and extraintestinal diseases. This technology has received widespread attention and research in recent years, and is expected to make greater breakthroughs and progress in the treatment of more diseases.

Science popularization education is an important way to raise public health awareness and promote the development of health undertakings. It is hoped that through the promotion of FMT in this science popularization activity, more people can understand and pay attention to this field, and jointly contribute to the popularization of science and the development of public health undertakings.
